~ART SUPPLY PRODUCT REVIEW~ ARTIST’S LOFT COLORED PENCILS

Hey Guys So, im back with another product review. I’m reviewing the Artist’s Loft colored pencils. I actually really enjoyed this one because I haven’t used colored pencil in a long time. I also wanted to apologize for the quality of the coloring. Only because I have really bad carpal tunnel. So I couldn’t do as much layering as I wanted to do. Because my hand was about to fall off. When I got to the point of the end of this video. But I did the best that I could. This is why I paint because of the bad carpal tunnel I might even have arthritis, i don’t know for sure. So lets start from the beginning. So the Artist’s Loft colored pencils, when you open the box it comes with the same pamphlet that the watercolors and other Artist’s Loft products come with. Telling you how to use them and little tips and tricks you can do. The interesting about the Artist’s Loft colored pencils is they actually cost less then crayola colored pencils. I know, its bizarre. But they actually cost a lot less. I think the crayola for the same set was like 10 bucks, almost 10 bucks. And the Artist’s Loft of the same number of pencils was actually $6 And the colored pencils work very much like the crayola. I used them when I was a kid and the feel exactly the same. They actually draw very smoothly. So I would recommend this for anyone that doesn’t want to spend money on Prismacolor or the Polychromos. The really expensive colored pencils. So if you just want to play these are great. And you don’t have to spend as much on the Crayola. For this I decided that I wanted to swatch out all the colors because I wanted to see what each color would look like before i used it. So I’m using the same method that i use for the watercolor. This method is working well for me. Because I know ahead of time what to expect. So i would recommend doing this kind of stuff when you get new supplies So, now what I am doing is i’m actually using my coloring book. My Jasmine Beckett Griffith coloring book. Unm if you wanted the video that i have previously done on it It’s a review video on how i loved it. And how I just got it. It’s an Artist Vlog. Just check my previous videos. And you’ll see it I decided to use this because these colored pencils, honestly i would say are not for professionally finished artwork. They are great for coloring books. Because they don’t get very dark I mean I had to press really hard to get to the darkness that I did. Which is why my hands starting hurting so quickly So, don’t expect these to be highly pigmented colored pencils. They don’t get very dark. You have to actually layer them. So that’s one issue that i did see with them. They just are very dark, but they work great for coloring books. If you have a kid who wants to colored pencils, these are actually are better then the Crayola because they cost less. And they work just about the same. I had a lot of fun because they had wide range of shades. the only thing is the names of the colors were a little weird. They had like Ocean blue. Which i think because Im a professional artist, im use to the actual names of the colors and not the kid names of the colors. So that was little throwing off. I actually enjoyed doing this, i haven’t done a coloring book in a long time. i had a lot of fun and it was very de-stressing I didn’t have to worry about drawing anything. But I would recommend these for kids or someone who just doesnt have a who lot of money and you really don’t want to spend $1 something on a Prismacolor pencil. If you just want a colored pencil pack, this would work great. That’s all I have to really say about this. If you guys enjoyed this video Dont forget to comment, like, and share. I just bought these about an hour ago – yes I was one of the crazies out shopping at 9:00 on Christmas Eve Eve lol. I just used my favorite colors purple and light blue to see how they looked – I have to get to wrapping gifts but figured I would check out YouTube to see if anyone reviewed them before I get to work. I LOVE your idea of swatching each color and labeling them so you can reference it. I paid $10 for 48 which were normally $24.99 so I think I got a good deal. Thanks for the info 🙂
