Love this!! If you ever play with crayons again you should try building up the crayon first and then doing a watercolor wash on top. The wax from the crayon is a barrier to the watercolor and creates a really cool effect!

I absolutely LOVE your style when using Crayolas, especially the girl in the blue sweater. It adds a whole other dimension to your work, I love the thicker lines of the shopping cart, contrasting with the thinner lines in the girl, it adds more depth, and the textures are so interesting! Yes, it's a bit cleaner than what you're used to do, but the vibrancy of it all tells a story. Love when you're scare yourself in trying new stuff, so fun and interesting! Keep up Fran!! <3

Hi Fran! Although Fridays aren't the end of my week, I always look forward to them because of your videos! I'm super happy you did a Crayola crayon trial. I love drawing with my kids in crayon and just watched Deadpool 2 and they have closing credits done in crayon which is super cute and inspiring. If you like the feel of crayon, I highly suggest trying out the Caran d'Ache Neocolor II water soluble crayons. I really enjoyed the texture of the furry pink coat and blue lining. I'm imagining furry dogs and animals in that kind of texture. Hope you're enjoying your New York lifestyle! Cheers! <3

If you use a water colour over the top the wax in the crayons resists the water and looks pretty cool. Good way to use the white crayon too 🙂

I actually really like the marker outline on face features yes it's a harsh line but I think drawing lines really works for you so I think the detail stains out because it is a bold outline. 🙂 :3 either way was good but I like the bolder outline of the pen. I think you have an eye for animation and the smaller details in drawing.

But the illustrations you made came out wicked amazing 🙂 They sell this brand in Dick Blick.
