How to Draw a Hummingbird – Drawing With Color Pencils

Hello my friends and welcome
to another Tuesday of tutorial. I am Leonardo Pereznieto and today
we will draw a hummingbird. With lose strokes, let´s start
by sketching an oval for the general shape of the body. Then the neck and another oval
slightly smaller at one end for the head. And here the tail… Very good! Now we can define the forms
a little bit better, like this. Very good! Now, the very long beak. I love hummingbirds… …and the eye. Now the wings up here. Good! We are ready to start coloring. I´ll begin this by doing a base
with blue and green markers. Although this is not totally essential. If you don´t have markers
we can go on directly with the pencils. Now with the black prismacolor
let´s do the eye, generally I like doing the eyes earlier
as it gives personality to the drawing. If you want you can outline
some of the feathers with a very thin marker. If not, you can go on and
just do the feathers with pencil like this. I use a light blue first. Outline the eye, and then
the beak, with orange, purple for the shadow
and beige. Good! Now let´s go on with different tones
of blue and green feathers. Some light gray on the back
may look very good. And on this side use some dark blue
because it will be in shadow. Good! And below, some very light blues. Excellent! I love drawing so much. Outline the tail with some
dark gray. And then… fill it in. Each of these feathers can be
divided in half. The list of materials is in
the information below the video. Very good! Nice. I like it. In regards to the wings,
I don´t want to make them solid because I want to make them seem
in movement, therefore I leave them a little bit transparent
and a little bit blurred. I like it! Good! Now, this bird looks hungry,
let´s make some lunch… … a delicious red flower. Looks really juicy [laughs]. Now it´s happy! Let´s do some last reflections…
and it´s ready! If you enjoyed it please
give it a LIKE, share it to your friends,

Beautiful work. I have a question;before you draw any of the animals, don't you have to know the skeletal structure? How did you learn this for so many animals? They are all so beautiful.
