Sketch-Dump · 30 Ways to Fill a Sketchbook · SemiSkimmedMin

Hi my loves welcome back. In today’s video I’m gonna do what is
probably my most common way of filling pages in my sketchbook and one of my favourites
which is with a sketch-dump. Basically a load of unrelated drawings that
all kind of merge together. It’s just a fancy bunch of doodles. That aren’t particularly fancy. And normally what I’ll do is, and I’ve
mentioned this before, but I’ll scroll through tumblr or instagram and just jot down whatever
I see, hopefully get a bit of a range of different things. And I have to warn you lot now, I think over
the course of this 30-day sketchbook page thing, quite a few of the pages will be more
you know.. doodle like this one… not quite refined and certainly not masterpieces. As I said this project for me isn’t about
creating beautiful works of art every day but also practicing and learning and experimenting
which means there are probably at some point gonna be things that I don’t even wanna
upload cos it’s not all gonna turn out great. But I’m gonna share it all with you anyway,
the highs and the lows and the doodles and scribbles and all that. So yeah what I’m saying is, if you’re
looking for high quality finished pieces of art, this isn’t really gonna be the place
to be for the next 30 days. That being said I love sharing this kind of
process with you guys, the more casual side of things, its almost like a behind the scenes
of what I get up to when I’m not filming or you know the stuff that I don’t post
on social media. Alright so after I finished off that bear,
I wasn’t really sure how to keep the page flowing, I didn’t just want a load of drawings
dotted around the page, I prefer it when they’re all sort of merging into one another. So the way that I normally work around that
is that I’ll draw a box or something to put my next drawing into and that just helps
to frame things and keep me within a space that works. And then its also quite fun to shade either
in the box or around it to make it stand out and create a bit of contrast. Umm here a bit of the footage went missing
but all I drew was some leaves, and then I started on this really quick sketch of a guys
face. I was pleasantly surprised with how all of
these turned out. I was surprised that nothing went wrong. But I guess I mainly drew people and I’m
confident enough with that. I considered attempting some hands but…
wasn’t feeling brave enough for that. But yeah thank you all for such lovely feedback
on the last video. It’s so great to be back. I hope you enjoyed this one. I’ll see you tomorrow for some life-drawing! But in the meantime have a fun Friday night! Bye!

Every piece of art you do, doodle, or a pointless sketch deserves to be framed 😍 I'm so jealous of your level of talent, I can only hope I get to a point with my art where I'm just as good. Excited for the next video!!

question: If you draw with normal pencils on both pages, doesn´t the drawing get smudged when you draw on another page?! I think it is quite annoying, because it always happens to me. Do you have any tip regarding that matter?

One of the things I struggle with is I look at your drawing and I go "wow! I'm such a bad drawer compared to her like I should just give up now" but I think one of the main things i need to realise is that you have been doing this for a while and I just started like fully drawing last year. So of course my drawings are not going to be as good but I need practice.
