Tutorial | How to draw, color realistic eyes with colored pencils – step by step | Emmy Kalia

Hi guys, in this video i will show you how
i drew these eyes with colored pencils and all of the names of the materials i have used
are listed in the description box below. i start with a dark brown i outline the iris
and eyelid and than color the pupil you might think the pupil should be black
but you should try not to use black in your drawings, the only times i do , would be when
a drawing is very small and the colors should really stand out or when i draw an eye with
make up, like mascara, than i use black too. But i usually just mix a dark blue and a dark
brown, that should be dark enough and make it look more realistic. the colors you use for the iris depend on
which color eye you will be drawing. i always start with the lightest colors. i use a grey for the eye ball because this
should never be white. the whitest parts of the eye are always the
eye reflections. im defining the crease and than start coloring
the skintones. For more explanation about how i color skin
tones you could watch my tutorial. i will put a link below. i color the first layers of skin tones with
light pressure and as i go i add more pressure. the last layer i blend all of the colors together
by coloring with the lightest color with hard pressure. This is why i like coloring skin with the
luminance pencils because they blend so well and because i can keep going over the layers
to add more color when i want too. for the eyelashes i use a dark blue for the
first layer i use the polychromos pencils for the eyelashes
because i can get the pencil tip sharper and i think that the luminance pencils are a bit
too soft for smaller details. now for the second layer i use a dark brown. i am using these two colors for the eyelashes
instead of black because i want them to have a natural look. after the two first layers i like to blend
the lashes with a lighter color before i add the last layer with dark brown. i usually do this because i like a more softer
look. i use the pencil eraser to erase the colored
pencil for some highlights. now the last layer of the eyelashes.
and after i finish both eyes i always come back to correct some things. for the brightest highlights i use a white
uni posca. and later when it s dry i go over some parts with a colored pencil where it
shouldn’t be so bright for the eyebrow i start with a layer of dark
brown and than i blend the first layer. now i add more layers with brown and dark
blue. now watch me draw the other eye using the
same techniques. after i finished both eyes i look at them
closely and correct where i need to. so i hope this video was helpfull. let me know if it was. and if you have any
questions feel free to ask. If you are new on my channel don’t forget
to subscribe for more videos. Thanks for watching, bye…

I tried to follow this drawing tutorial but it was hard because I don't use faber castel color pencils so it was hard matching the colors correctly. I was wondering if maybe in a future video you could give equivalent colors from faber castel color pencils to like Crayola color penicls. thanks.
