Tutorial | How to draw, color realistic lips with colored pencils – step by step | Emmy Kalia

Hi guys in this video i will show you how
i drew these lips with colored pencils and all of the materials i have used are listed
in the description box below. i start with the outline and the first layer. for the darker values i use perylene brown
and later indigo blue. and again don’t use black but mix a brown with a dark blue. with a lighter color i color with medium pressure
to blend the colors a bit keep adding layers and blend with lighter
colors. the colors you use depend on which color lips
you are coloring. here im correcting a bit with the pencil eraser. i thought the under lip was a bit too big. now lets attach these lips to the nose. for
more explanation about how to color skin tones you can watch my previous tutorials. now with my favorite white marker I’m going
to add some highlights to the lips. what i like about this marker is that you
can go over it with colored pencil once it’s dry. so don’t worry if its too white at first. I will go over it later on. to make your lips look realistic add all of
the details. if it’s your first time drawing lips, take
a reference photo and study the lips closely. To draw realistic you must learn to look at
every detail you see. Every detail counts. And remember I’m still learning myself too. Thats it. let me know if this video was helpful and
don’t forget to subscribe to my channel if you haven’t yet. Thanks for watching. bye if you want to know how i colored this nose
with colored pencils, watch my precious tutorial ill put a link below.

Once again, you amaze me. How do you determine all the colors? Do you use a computer and look at the pixels? I just got the Polychromos 60 pencil set. Will see what colors will come close to what you used. It do have the 10% and 50% variations. Keep up the fabulous work.

Hi, I've been watching your videos and was wondering if you use a reference photo and if you do any tracing to get proportions and placement right? I haven't seen any sketching prior to putting the colored pencil down. Thank you!

Hi Emmy, I love your tutorials! My partner gave me a box of polychromos few weeks ago and with your help I'm really learning how to use them! I love doing portraits and I didn't have a clue on how to do realistic ones with coloured pencils. Thanks for uploading them 😀

vraagje: is het echt de moeite waard om een hele grote doos faber castell te kopen? Is namelijk beetje duur van zakgeld🙃Kan ik met een doos van 36 ook redelijk overweg? 💎

which colors in the Caran d'ache luminance pencils do you use? I see they don't come in the exact colors that your video using the Faber Castell Polychromos for the facial colors had, or do they?

Hi Emmy, I'm an artist and I always enjoy seeing other people practice their craft. When I first started studying your work it really helped me out a lot. I had just purchased the Faber-Castell 120 pencil set and was wanting pointers from other artists about using them and to show me some tricks. I have learned so much from your work. It is amazing and because I have watched all of your tutorials, it makes me want to become better. You are in a class by yourself. I hope I can work with the Faber-Castell pencils as well as you do (I am having fun learning to use them). I wanted to comment on this drawing. I didn't know about the Uni-Posca and I bought one and it has really made a difference in my drawings. The way you create depth especially in this drawing is quite stunning; I also notice that you use it with you other drawings. I like how drastic it makes a highlight and it is hard to get that with other pencils. I look forward to your future videos! Thank you for showing how to use mediums properly. I am never going back to Prismacolor!

If you can what colored pencils are you using in this video? I would like to know so I can use this tutorial. Also what brand. If you can could you make a second version of this showing what colors you're using at the time. I've seen you do this in your color shade skin tones, could you do this in this video please? It would be very helpful. Could u do that with all of your other tutorials too for body parts? INcluding hair thank you!

Thank you very much Emmy for the tutorials amd showing the possibilities of using this medium. You have turned my otherwise unused coloured pencils into my go to medium for drawing portraits. However though, if it isn't too much to ask, could you please do a video on drawing black skin. I know you've done the spheres but I'd really appreciate seeing you do it in practice on an actual face. Me being based in Africa, most of my subjects are obviously black. Thank you very much. Keep up the good work.
